The Sector 5 Black Ops Elite case for the iPhone 5/5s is Element Case’s flagship case in their tactical line. Aside from the usual features of the Sector 5 case, the Black Ops Elite also uses G10, a durable plastic laminate normally used in handgun grips and tactical knives. I picked up a sample during CES and used it for several weeks. I really liked it for the most part, but had a couple of issues with it.
Mobile device manufacturers still charge a big premium for devices with additional memory. The cost difference between a base iPad Air with 16GB of memory and the 128GB version is a whopping $300. There is, however, no shortage of secondary Wi-Fi storage solutions available. The SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive is one of most portable I’ve seen and is definitely a keeper.
Having a single iPhone or smartphone used to be a big deal, then came tablets like the iPad. Now having multiple devices is the norm, which brings us to a charging dilemma. Charging your devices at home is probably a non-issue, but how about when you’re in your car? Can you and your spouse or partner charge your phones at the same time? What about an iPad? Got kids in the back with their own devices? What then? Kensington tries to address all of these questions with the PowerBolt 3.1 car charger.
When I think of high-end business laptops, the first name that comes to mind is the ThinkPad T series. The T Series is somewhat of a throwback laptop, with Ultrabooks being the “it” design of late. The ThinkPad T Series’ classic design is precisely why I find it so appealing and why you’re probably reading this review. The T430 is Lenovo’s current T Series model and after taking a nice long look, I believe it’s a nice incremental upgrade from the T420.
Portable hard drives are great for carrying around data and for backups, but some “portable” hard drives aren’t always that portable. The Seagate Slim USB 3.0 portable hard drive, on the other hand, is amazingly thin and lightweight. But does it sacrifice performance for that svelte form factor?
The BlueAnt Q2 was a very good Bluetooth headset and I really liked it when I reviewed it a couple of years ago. BlueAnt is back now with the Q2′s successor, the Q3. We’ll take a look at the new flagship headset from BlueAnt and check out what improvements BlueAnt has made.
The CandyShell Grip case by Speck is a slight variation of the very popular CandyShell case. It’s identical in almost every way, except for the rubber stripes that run horizontally on the back of the case. The rubber stripes improve the grip quite a bit and makes it an easy choice for those with butter fingers.
