The Sector 5 Black Ops Elite case for the iPhone 5/5s is Element Case’s flagship case in their tactical line. Aside from the usual features of the Sector 5 case, the Black Ops Elite also uses G10, a durable plastic laminate normally used in handgun grips and tactical knives. I picked up a sample during CES and used it for several weeks. I really liked it for the most part, but had a couple of issues with it.
The DualPro case is one of Incipio’s most protective cases without moving up to the waterproof/rugged department. It’s a durable, two-piece case that comes in a variety of finishes. I was sent the DualPro Shine and the Carbon Fiber finishes and really liked the way they looked.
The Impact Trio is a one-piece case for the iPhone 5/5s by Tech21. Armed with Tech21′s D3O polymer, the slim, slip-on case protects your iPhone while looking good.
The new DODOcase Solid for the Nexus 7 (2013) is finally available and I was able to get my hands on one to review. It’s the first DODOcase I’ve personally handled and I see now why people have been so smitten with its design.
The CandyShell Grip case by Speck is a slight variation of the very popular CandyShell case. It’s identical in almost every way, except for the rubber stripes that run horizontally on the back of the case. The rubber stripes improve the grip quite a bit and makes it an easy choice for those with butter fingers.
When Apple first introduced a bumper along with the iPhone 4, there was no shortage of confused reactions. It’s a case, but not a case. It will protect the sides, but not the front or back. What’s the point? Well, as we later found out, Apple likely had a good idea there were issues with the antenna and it needed a solution. Enter the bumper.
Fast forward to today and bumpers are all but commonplace when it comes to an accessory lineup for a new device, except the iPhone 5. Well, there are bumpers for the iPhone 5, but you won’t find them being made by Apple anymore. A few weeks ago I was sent a bumper, made entirely of aluminum, called the AL13. Here’s what I think about it.
The FitFolio for iPad by Speck is one of several iPad cases offered by the long-time Apple accessory maker. Speck’s FitFolio style is very popular and available for other tablets as well. The iPad version comes in a wide variety of color and print choices. I took a look at the Megaplaid version for this review.
