Speck SeeThru SATIN case for MacBook Air
I reviewed the Speck SeeThru SATIN case for MacBook Pro earlier this year and thought it was such a nice case that I decided to take a look at the same case for the MacBook Air (June 2012).
- 24x7x365 protection
- Satin finish is soft and easy to grip
- Easy installation and removal
- Rubberized feet help keep it in place
DESIGN & FEATURES
The Speck SeeThru SATIN case for MacBook Air is made out of the same soft-touch material as the SATIN case I reviewed for the MacBook Pro. It’s soft and easier to grip than the aluminum unibody of the Air.
The SeeThru SATIN case comes in two pieces and snap in easily. They can also be removed easily by sliding the tabs off the edge of the Air.
When attached, the SeeThru SATIN allows access to all the ports on both sides of the Air. You get easy access to the MagSafe power port, USB port, and headphone jack on the left side and the Thunderbolt port, USB port, and SD card reader on the right side.
The bottom piece of the SeeThru SATIN case has rubberized feet that seem to work better than the ones on the Air itself. They do a good job of keeping the Air from sliding around on flat surfaces.
The lid piece covers the Apple logo, but when the Air is powered on, you can actually see the logo through it.
The only problem I had with the MacBook Pro version of the SeeThru SATIN case was that it interfered slightly with a standard Kensington lock. There’s no such issue with the MacBook Air, because the Air doesn’t have a lock port.
The Speck Products SeeThru SATIN case is an excellent case if you want 24x7x365 protection for your MacBook Air. It provides good protection against dings and scratches and looks nice doing it. I highly recommend it.
