The design of Speck’s FitFolio cases are very popular and often used by other makers as well. Speck, however, is well-known for their great craftsmanship, to go along with their great designs. The FitFolio case for the Kindle Fire is no exception.

Speck FitFolio for Kindle Fire

The folio design for tablets is very popular because they’re simple, look good and usually double as a stand. The FitFolio by Speck comes in multiple colors in either a vegan leather or fabric. The vegan leather feels nice to the touch and is easy to grip. The interior lining is a very soft, microsuede material that won’t scratch the 7-inch screen of the Kindle Fire.

The mounting cradle is made out of a hard plastic that protects the three sides of the Kindle Fire that’s exposed when the case is shut. The mount lifts up and can rest on the notches of the front flap, for use as a stand.

The four notches provide various viewing angles and the Kindle Fire stays put rather well. You can also flip the cover around and use it to tilt the case slightly for easier typing on the keyboard in landscape mode.

A bungee cord keeps the front flap closed or you can use it to keep the flap out of the way when you have it open. I’m not normally a fan of bungee cords because after time, they can lose their strength, but the one on the FitFolio seems more durable than most.

The cutouts on the bottom provide easy access to the power button, charging port, and headphone jack, while the speaker cutouts on the top allow sound to play unobstructed.

The FitFolio case by Speck for the Kindle Fire is an excellent case and a good value. When closed up, it provides very good protection for the Fire. Upon opening it, you can use the flap in one of three ways to suit your needs. It’s an ingenious design and as usual, Speck makes function, beautiful. I highly recommend it.

Available from Amazon or directly from Speck.
